In health class today we have learned about how to deal with anxiety and depression. Did you know that depression for kids has risen by 63% since 2013, it is now 47% for boys and 65% for girls. Some warning signs you could use to see if your friend is feeling depressed is a Loss of energy, you can see if your friend is more isolated, or tired, also a loss in daily activities, your friend stays at home or declines to hang out, another one can be reckless behavior, if your friend starts acting out often and does a whole bunch of wreckless things this could be a sign with depression along with the other two.
There is also 3 factors that can contribute to clinical depression, one being Abuse physical, and emotional abuse can later lead to clinical depression, the second being Conflict if your friend is having lots of conflicts with friends, family, etc. this could be a sign of depression or later lead to it, Finally a death or loss usually leads to crying and greifing for a loved one, this naturally can lead to depression. If you have a friend who talk about suicide or has thoughts of death here is some things you can do to help them. One is to get a base understanding about what depression is and how to talk about it with your friend or family member. You always want to look at your health to while reaching out, this may seem selfish but its not as it is necessary, a stronger emotional health will make it easier to help a depressed friend or loved one.
